HAVE A FUN AND SAFE HALLOWEEN!
Today was a great day in Kindergarten! We had our first classroom party! Thank you to all the parents who planned, donated, and helped with the party! The students had a great time and enjoyed all their crafts and fun snack! Here are a few pictures from the party. We have been very busy the last few days preparing for Halloween. Here are a few of our activities.... We illustrated and wrote about our Halloween costumes. Students were then able to share their work with the class. We had a great time learning about all the fun costumes. We also worked with the books Go Away Big Green Monster and Nighty Night Little Green Monster. We then created our own monsters and wrote about them! Today we did a 'Write The Room' activity the Halloween way! We found all these words around our classroom and matched the pictures to the correct word.

We have been reading lots of Halloween and Fall stories in class. Here is our latest art project! REMINDER: NO SCHOOL ON THURSDAY OR FRIDAY THIS WEEK!
Today was a super special day in Kindergarten! Today the firefighters from the East Side Fire Department came to visit. We first practiced a fire drill and did a great job following our routine to exit the building safely. We then had a chance hear a presentation from a few firefighters. They told us all about their special equipment and showed us how they wear their hats, boots, and coats. After the presentation we went outside and got to see the firetruck. The students were able to go inside the firetruck and check out where the firemen sit. We then worked on a book about firemen and found several popcorn words that we know. Students will be bringing these books home tonight to practice reading and keep in their treasure book boxes. THANK YOU to the East Side Fire Department!! Today in math, we wrapped up Chapter 2 and reviewed for our test tomorrow. There is also a chapter review coming home for homework tonight for more practice.
