This week we will be wrapping up our chapter over addition. We will not be testing over addition until further notice because we are going to spend some time learning other addition strategies- using a number lines, drawing objects, using pictures, using counters, etc. We will be practicing our addition strategies throughout the week, and there will be no math homework coming home.

This afternoon we went to the Chromebook Lab to work on PLANET TURTLE. Planet turtle is a website based around math skills that each student can use at home and school. Check your child's folder tonight for their log in information!
Class picture order forms will also be in folders tonight. This week is letter Mm week! We have been working hard listening for the /m/ sound in the beginning of words!
In math we are moving right along in our addition chapter! Everyone is really getting the hang of addition and making our number sentences. Today we worked on using addition while problem solving. Today we began Chapter 5 in math which covers addition. The students are excited about this new skill and our hands on activities to help us as we learn. Students will be bringing home flashcards today that you can use at home to review some new vocabulary for our chapter. Today we used our counters to help us through some addition stories. This afternoon we learned more about Martin Luther King Jr. EARLY DISMISSAL TOMORROW (2pm) This week is letter Kk week. We have worked to create a great list of letter Kk words for our classroom! We also wrapped up Chapter 4 in math by completing our test this morning. Everyone did a wonderful job! Be sure to check out your student's test tonight and congratulate them! :)
This afternoon our class went to the reading lab to do our winter AimsWeb testing. These scores will be availble within the next few school days and will be sent home for you to see progross from the fall testing.
