We had a great week learning more about Spring, frogs, and the letter Uu. We have been working hard on sounding out our CVC words, recognizing syllables in words, and building word family words. We had a great week working with the letter Tt and learning more about SPRING! The students were excited to put '1st day of Spring' on the calendar on Wednesday.
Everyone has been doing a great job working on their subtraction skills! Thanks for all your help at home completing the math homework-it really helps. We will continue to practice adding and subtracting throughout the remainder of the year. Students have been working independently on addition games during center time and doing a great job. *No math homework will be coming home tonight* I am currently working on assessing everyone's popcorn words (October-January words). I will be sending home a copy at the end of next week. *FIELD TRIP-Please send in your child's permission slip and $5 payment by April 12th. We will not be able to accept late payments. If you are interested in being a chaperone, please let me know as soon as possible! Chaperones must have background checks and payments submitted by 4/12. All student's fees must be paid prior to the field trip. NO SCHOOL TOMORROW (3/22) Teacher Institute Day Please send in a (peanut free) classroom snack for 23 students before the end of the month. Thank you!
NO SCHOOL on FRIDAY MARCH 22- Teacher Institute Day KINDERGARTEN FIELD TRIP- APRIL 26th. Please look for more information in your child's school folder! This week we will begin learning about subtraction. Our class has done a great job with their addition skills and we will continue to practice addition throughout the remainder of the year. Last week we enjoyed learning about Dr. Seuss and reading lots of fun stories. We worked on rhyming and word families. We have also been working hard on our sentence writing. Yesterday I sent home the last set of popcorn words that we will be introducing this year! Thank you for all your help practicing the words at home. Don't forget you can find a list of all our Kindergarten popcorn words by clicking the 'KINDERGARTEN POPCORN WORDS' tab on the left side of this page.
